New Yorker Bonnie Lemon has worked out six times per week for the past several years but she could never get rid of that “problem area.”
“Very frustrating, 'cause I feel like I'm eating healthy, I'm working out,” Lemon said. “I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do and I just still couldn't get rid of this little extra layer of fat right on my belly.”
She said boot camp didn't work and running didn't do the trick.
“No matter how many time a week I worked out, or what I ate, I just couldn't seem to get rid of it,” she said.
Lemon found a fast fix through her dermatologist called Liposonix. Dr. Lance Brown said the procedure zaps that last inch of fat.
“It's for someone who's working hard to maintain that healthy lifestyle and who will use this as an adjunct to get to that point that they want to get to,” Brown said.
Liposonix uses ultrasound technology to destroy the fat.
Dr. Brown said you can use it on just about any area. The procedure, which starts at $3,000, takes about an hour. It is a one-time deal.
“The hand piece is held on each area for approximately a minute while the high-intensity focused ultra sound is destroying the layer of fat beneath the skin,” Brown said.
In one noninvasive treatment you can lose about an inch from your waist.
Lemon said she saw results just six weeks after surgery.
“I felt like everything was just so much more tight and more toned and a lot flatter,” she said.
